This large private villa has recently been completely refurbished in 2007 with a new large pool standing on a quarter of an acre plot. All 4 bedrooms are air conditioned and the master bedroom opens up onto the veranda with a view of the pool. The master bedroom has an ensuite showerroom. In total the main house can sleep 8.

Location of Property

The property is set in a quiet good residential area with a large secluded garden. The property is only 8 minutes from the airport, 2 minutes to the nearest beach, 5 minutes to the best golf club on the island and 3-5 minutes from 2 great restaurants. There is an excellent supermarket 10 minutes away and the capital St Johns is only a 15 minute drive. Close to several beaches and award winning restaurants.

“We booked the Villa for two weeks in early Jan 2009 for my 40th birthday, and it was totally perfect. I see that the site has been updat ed with more information by the owners and its all completely accurate. If you are planning to rent a villa with a group then this is one of the few places available that can sleep a large number of people in total comfort. The facilities are very well appointed and has everything you need. The location is very convenient to the airport, (which is actually very handy if you have guests arriving over time). It’s also an easy drive to the best supermarket on the island and some great beaches. While the property itself is not on a beach and is in a very quiet part of the island it is very easy to get anywhere you need with a car. (and Antigua is quiet and laid back anyway). One thing I will say is that you really should consider hiring a car, not only because of the location, but also because Antigua does not have a well established transport system and taxi costs will mount up. It might be tempting to get a villa closer to town, or English Harbour, but I would not recommend it (particularly if you are going to self cater). There is only one major supermarket on the island (just outside St Johns) and if you are going to eat in a lot then you want to within a reasonable distance of it (<15mins from Jennings house). Much of the food on the island is imported so other than some local grown stuff (limited due to water issues) it is not cheap (about US/UK prices). This also applies to eating out as they have to pay similar prices as well. We did an eat in/eat out rotation and had fantastic meals all the time. Don’t let this put you off going to paradise under the sun, as that’s truly what Antigua is! The prices are just a reality of modern economics and were possible buy local. The tomatoes look like sin, and taste like heaven! We were met at the airport by the property manager who is totally charming and so keen to get us settled in and relax into our holiday. He was available by phone for any questions we had and quick to sort anything out for us. You can also have a maid come in to spruce things up during your stay. The villa does have air conditioning, but also has loads of insect screen windows and is with the lovely cooling trade winds you don’t need it. The pool right outside is fantastic, and surprisingly deep at one end ( a lovely luxury). There are loads of sun chairs and gardens are delightful during the day and lit nicely at night. While the main house does have dining tables and chairs you really will want to eat outside and this is catered for well! The kitchen is very well appointed and the fridge is a large American style one with automatic ice (an extra little luxury for all those cold drinks). One small detail we found from experience is that the hot water comes from solar panels so you need to be quick for a warm shower in the morning. But once you know this and also settle into island life there is loads of hot water during the day and evening. Also as its Antigua, you don’t want hot and there is always sunshine! I cannot recommend staying at Jennings house enough if you have the people coming and need the space. The owners are totally charming and sorting the booking out was very easy, and then when you arrive after a long flight and get shown your new home, well its great start to what will be an awesome holiday. If you love sun, sand and un-crowded beaches then this is the place you need to go!! Thank you Jennings house team for an amazing time! ”
