How to get there

- Wizzair fly direct from Luton to B(o)urgas International Airport at budget prices 3-4 times per week.<BR>- Balkan Holidays opreate flights to Bourgas from most UK airports during May - October <BR>- Other major tour operators (Thomson, First Choice, Thomas Cook etc.) operate flghts from most UK airports during the Summer Season.<BR>- Flying time to Burgas is 3 hours from London airports. Sozopol is approx 30-40 minutes by dual carriageway from Burgas airport. A transfer service can be arranged by the owners.<BR>- Car hire is available from most leading companies (Budget, Hertz, Avis etc.) from the airport and from local suppliers in Sozopol .<BR>- Local buses run regularly between Burgas and Sozopol<BR>- There are always local taxis available at the airport and in Sozopol itself.

Sozopol and Local Area

Located on a slender rocky peninsula, Sozopol was founded in 610BC by the Miletian Greeks and is one of the oldest and most charming of Bulgaria’s coastal settlements. In the off season it is a sleepy fishing village favoured by artists and writers but the summer sees it transform in to a popular beach resort best known for its relaxed ambience, sandy beaches and distinctive architecture. Its cobbled streets and sea-facing terraces are home to numerous small restaurants and cafes which are ideal for taking in the views while digging in to a plate of locally-caught seafood. It also has a marina or you can watch the fishermen off-loa d their catches from the small harbour. Take a stroll along the old towns cobblestone streets where you will find a host of traditional stone houses, with their overhanging wooden upper stories topped by red-tiled roofs, stalls, craft shops, art galleries and street entertainment. If you are a visitor in early September, don’t miss the annual Apollonia International Art and Music Festival which attracts visitors and artists from all over the world. Further afield, 30 km to the north there is the large city of Burgas with its extensive facilities and pleasant boulevards. To the south, the scenery is spectacular and dramatic with towering cliffs and peninsulars around Cape Maslen, wild beaches at Alepou and Arkoutino and an extensive Nature Reserve populated by many species of migrating birds. Indeed, this region is wonderful for bird watchers and there is a bird reserve and hide on the road between Sozopol and Burgas.

Paradise View, Sozopol, is a new complex completed in September 2008. It contains 70 high quality luxury apartments with both childrens and adults swimming pools set in landscaped gardens. Our 1 bedroom air conditioned apartment is located on the second floor at the sea facing end of the building. It has sea views from all windows and the balcony, Internet coonectivity is avialable through WI-FI.<BR>The apartment is only 50 metres from the sea front and 1mile from Harmonite beach. The historic town of Sozopol is just over 1 mile away with its fantastic fish restaurants, terraced cafes and bars, arts and crafts shops and renowned arts and music festival.<BR>In the holiday season a shuttle train connects the complex to other developments, the beaches & the town. It runs every hour & costs about 90p.<BR><BR>The Black Sea Coast is an up and coming destination for people wanting to enjoy sea, sand and sun at value for money prices. Prices in Sozopol are on average half those found in the UK.<BR>Within the Sozopol area there are 3 large sandy beaches, warm seas and a cuisine and wine which come as a pleasant surprise. <BR>The climate during the peak season is balmy with average temperatures of 30 degrees, over 10 hours of sun per day, minimal rain and cooling sea breezes. If you can find somewhere away from the main tourist spots - such as Sozopol - you will have yourself a real gem with all the benefits that Bulgaria has to offer without the crowds and at significantly lower prices compared to resorts such as Sunny Beach. Great beaches and weather, good food and wine, and a little bit of culture too, can all be found on the Black Sea Coast.<BR>
